      should try to connect with a current student at the school she is interested in. Lots of schools arrange this or have student blogs where you can reach out and ask questions.

    How realistic is this? We don't have school buses, and my kids are too young to drive, but they would need rides one way, and I'm not sure how easy it will be to plan a carpool or how comfortable we would be, even though kids will be together in school. It doesn't sound like there will be an online only option. Has anyone else heard their school's plan?

    likely be remote. We are in a NYC suburb, and our district kept acting as if school would resume after a few weeks, or a month, or by May, etc. The lack of planning due to an expected quick return to normal, plus the new projection of instability going forward, has led my kids and several of their friends to doubt the future and the value of college. No alternate plans. Anyone else?

      • One is medically fragile but extroverted and very social. Given the circumstances, almost all activities have had to be stopped - team sports, training with others, etc....(more) 7-18-2020 12:58am
        Training is solo now, but that is just less motivating. The other is introverted and nerdy by nature but doesn't feel learning is as effective online. For science courses, there were no labs, for example. Summer research couldn't happen. There is just less excitement about going back to school if courses won't have labs again, bc he can't learn as well that way.

      courses seem tricky. DH teaches, and planned to lecture remote since March, but then was asked to reconsider last week after the student visa threat, but that has been resolved.

    Hey Moms! I am a New York City mother with 3 little ones between 6-14. Since COVID I have been much more aware of every little thing they touch and the potential germs they are bringing into our home. Curious if you other moms have any solutions for this. When they go in to prepare a snack or lunch, he gets passive aggressive and just sort of stands back with his arms crossed and a super annoyed look on his face. I’ve tried talking to him but it hasn’t helped at all. He needs help with this but I don’t know what kind. Any advice?
