Hi. My son is a sophmore in highschool, has oppositional defiant disorder, and just told us he was gay, and struggles with keeping friends. He struggles everyday with people making funny of him, bullying him and now a neighbor that he goes to school with has figured out he was gay and now my son is terrified he will go to school and tell everybody. He is already in counseling once a week, but I don't know how to help him. He was crying so hard tonight and I feel horrible. don't know what to do for him. I just feel like bad luck follows him everywhere. He keeps making mistakes and just when I think things are going smooth something else happens. Any advice as to help my son with all that he is dealing with, and how to deal with not having any friends. My heart breaks for him.

asked in past years. You definitely have to make a bid for it, express interest, keep them updated with any new accomplishments. Some schools wait list an absurd number, others really do go to the wait list to fill up the class. I would expect that Georgetown needs to go to the wait list for at least some students, because the ones that get in there would also get into Ivies. You can also find statistics on how many chose other schools over Georgetown. That will help you calculate possibilities
