Our son (just about to turn 3) just enrolled in CPELC. He's got speech and motor delays, and his EI therapists were recommending lots of PT, OT and speech -- his PT was urging us to ask for 5 sessions/week. Turns out, we're only getting 2 sessions/week at the school for each. Our CPSE coordinator told us that's to be expected, and that he'll be getting a lot of each therapy integrated into his regular schoolwork. We're new to all of this, so just curious if others have found that to be the case, whether there's any point to trying to get him more therapy within the school, or whether we should start looking for outside therapists for him. Thanks.

  14. Preschool Can anyone educate me about hypotonia/low muscle tone?...(more) 4-3-2018 1:29pm (2 replies)
It has been suggested by preschool teachers that DS (4 yo) has it. He was evaluated and qualified for PT 2x wk. Googling it has come up with confusing results. Some sites say that kids can outgrow it; others say they can't, they can only improve the symptoms with PT but the underlying condition is still there. Some sites say it's a muscle condition; others a neurological condition. Pedi doesn't think he has it, at least not in the medical sense and that it's a "trendy" diagnosis nowadays. He met all his major motor milestones on time (rolling, sitting, crawling, walking). However, it would explain some of his behaviors in preschool -- not being able to sit still, pay attention, falling more often than seems normal, and poor fine motor skills.

We got feedback from a school that with my twins, one twin is stronger than the other. Which is usually the case for twins. Anyone else have that experience or were both your twins strong? I am wondering what that means in terms of our chances for getting into the school. Also, twins switch so while sometimes one twin may do better other times the other may do better. It is just a twin thing. Have you ever had a situation where you got into a TT because both your twins were equally strong? I am so nervous! To clarify, they don't have development delays, but one has been having more fun with the play dates while the other has felt outside his comfort zone.
