depression and other "issues" that tend lead to lead people to overeating. drugs can cause weight gain. but they do not cause morbid obesity, or even obesity. a person who ate at caloric maintenance levels and took some "weight adding" drugs would gain some weight, but they would not transform into obese monsters. if the drugs or slow metabolism "depressed" them or made them eat for comfort, that's NOT because of a fat gene. no causation.

Well, it didn't. Gained close to 50lbs over almost 2 years on steroids and fertility drugs, then got pg and had to take more drugs to maintain pg, now I am really, really struggling...(more)12-21-2008 10:15am
