for the removal of the current floor and the installation of the new floor-- it is possible Home Depot will actually do such an installation. If not, they may be able to refer you to a contractor. There also may be city permits required. I don't know where you live. Where I live (NYC), nothing costs $5,000. I suspect it will be substantially more than that. Labor is expensive. Permits (if necessary) are expensive. Also, when you make a proposal to the condo building for alternations, there will be fees associated with that, and they may have certain requirements as to other work you have to do at the same time.
