Great article in NYT about how law schools are closing and there is no work for lawyers. Cant link it because I dont have an account :-(

- I am the least elitist person on the planet BUT...I am also a lawyer and my advice is always don't go unless you can get into a top law school, or have connections. Simply b/c...(more) 6-17-2016 9:40am the job market is so bad, I'm not being elitist or snobby about anything but actually finding a job. And I'm talking ANY job, not only Biglaw (I went to a top law school adn don't make a lot of money and not in law firm)

- I know a recruiter who works with top law firms. He said it is actually more important to graduate top of the class, no matter where you go. - Probably less true of Harvard, but I generally agree. Big law seems to only hire from about 10 schools, no matter how good you are. 6-17-2016 10:11am

- my dh is an attorney and was out of work for 2 years. He got a great job now and loves it, doesn't make bank at all (he will pull in maybe 50k this year, it's his first year with...(more) 6-17-2016 9:40am +2 likesthe firm and he had to get a book of buisness). HE is doing estate and elder planning law. THAT is where the jobs ar enow. He and another attorney at the firm just got a big medicaire and medicaid planning contract from a nursing home
