Is it possible to keep 2 separate insurances? Like 2 dental insurances? Then when I have one maxed out (say on orthodontia) just use the other one?

- You can, but you need to present both to the office and let them hash it out. 7-7-2014 4:05pm

- it isn't necessarily advantageous to you. it might be a colossal nuisance as the two companies bicker with each other trying to prove that the other should be covering things. 7-7-2014 4:08pm +1 like
- it wouldnt work like that. one is primary and covers what it covers according ot policy limits. then the other one kicks in and covers wht it covers. 7-7-2014 4:08pm
- Not at all how it works. Primary goes, then secondary covers what they cover less what your 1st covered usually 7-7-2014 4:09pm
- Can you answer my question about the braces? If I get 1500 per kid in braces covered, will the second one then kick in for their part of the 1500? 7-7-2014 4:11pm

- you'll have to read their fine print. ortho may be excepted out of secondary coverage. 7-7-2014 4:12pm
- ok I see what you are saying. 7-7-2014 4:12pm
- Not usually, the ortho is usually a lieftime max per person benefit 7-7-2014 4:16pm
- It's rare to get the full benefit of both, however it will cover most 7-7-2014 4:15pm

- Why not file claims with insurance 1 until the 1500 is reached then file claims with insurance 2? 7-7-2014 4:08pm
- It doesn't work that way with most policies. Most have yearly deductibles and it goes service by service. 7-7-2014 4:11pm
