i wonder if you all think i'm nuts for quitting my job. i was making 80k, dh was making 90k. my hours were miserable and i hated my role at work. tried to talk to boss about making... (more)
changes and he said "this is the job," so i quit. dh got a raise to $101k and i am sorta-kinda looking for part-time work but mostly just hanging out w the baby. we are ok on his salary. do you think i'm crazy for just qutting and not working fulltime? lawyer, btw.

- i think that you need to be happy with your life. if you can afford to step back for a little while, more power to you 4-26-2010 3:24pm
- i don't think you're crazy. if you can swing it financially on dh's paycheck and you don't want to work, you shouldn't. i can't imagine doing that though. 4-26-2010 3:25pm

- not at all. you can go back laer when you are ready. enjoy it while you can. 4-26-2010 3:25pm
- no you're not crazy. that's not that much $, after taxes it would basically get eaten up by childcare, and you'd be frazzled and probably so unhappy. 4-26-2010 3:25pm

- mine - NYC? i would NEVER wohm on that salary. it would cost me more to pay a ft nanny than i'm taking home (filing married w/dh salary) 4-26-2010 3:29pm
- OP -- we have a great daycare that is $310 a week, so i was still bringing home money, but i was miserable. 4-26-2010 3:30pm
- if your dh made 90k you wouldn't work - wow. i'm sure you could find less expensive childcare than a nanny 4-26-2010 3:31pm
- i bet your dh is so happy he is married to you. $80k is a good salary. you are a snob. 4-26-2010 3:33pm
