Dd is 2yo. Should we buy a house (NYC) now in the best school district we can afford? Or buy a nicer house in a worse district and plan to move? What do you think is the best school...

- nice neighborhood so she can start meeting kid she'll be in school with 6-5-2009 2:11pm

- i would never buy in a bad district and plan to move with a 2yo - market could totally collapse and you could easily be stuck anywhere 6-5-2009 2:11pm
- ita, that's really not much time to stay someplace and expect a decent return 6-5-2009 2:13pm
- we do it now and chose town based on schools only. And our budget of course. 6-5-2009 2:11pm
- where is she going to find a house for 450 with a good district? 6-5-2009 2:12pm
- someplace farther out, like New Providence or Berkeley Heights, NJ. No walking town, but good schools and cheaper houses 6-5-2009 2:16pm
- don't buy and plan to move again in a few year. I would compromise, nice-ish house in a reasonable good district 6-5-2009 2:12pm
- burbs or nothing with that budget 6-5-2009 2:12pm
