  1. NYC Schools IEP and high school admission...(more) 10-9-2020 10:49pm (1 reply)
Does an IEP help or hurt for NYC high school admission? 7th grade DC is dx'ed ADHD and ASD, decent student (3s and 4s, not a rock star), and very into art. Could he have a shot at one of the art high schools or Millennium Brooklyn or Beacon, and will the IEP hurt or help him? I don't think he can handle a truly competitive environment like a specialized school so trying to think outside of those.

DS (7) got offered a place at Lower Lab. He's currently at LREI. I so wanted to take it because we really can't afford to keep him at LREI but he's had really bad anxiety recently with so much change and school has been one constant and didn't want to pull him out in the middle of a semester and commit to a year of mostly remote/ kind of rock his world.
