DD got accepted to PPAS (drama) and Laguardia (Vocal). She loves musical theater but is definitely more of an actor who sings than a singer who acts. Definitely committed to performing arts but I want her to be able to get into a good college too. What do we do? Is it possible at LaG to switch majors?

is true, but it's a very low chance, esp given the kinds of in-classroom exposure we are talking about in NYC spub schools. And the insanity of keeping young kids cooped up in their rooms for 10 days on the infinistesimal chance that that might later test positive seems wrong to me.

middle schools bc/o positive test where a kid got COVID outside of school and then tested positive in school. But not one incidence of transmission from that in-classroom exposure. I know there are instances of in-school transmission, but VERY few in NYC where you have distancing and mask-wearing. Might it be time to change this rule? Alow kids to test out after 5 days or something? Actrually assess whether kids in the classroom were within 6 feet of the positive case?
