My DS is in private SN HS in NYC. Looking at Five Towns, Garnish, LIU-Brooklyn, Mercy, New Haven & New School who all have audio engineering/music programs. Any thoughts or other suggestions? Concerned about available and quality of SN support services to extent he will need those, primarily for slow processing and executive functioning. Finding New Haven to be the most receptive, so far, in that regard. The last year to two years DS believes he's found his calling: to be a rap artist and rap music producer. He has no formal music training other than SN HS's music classes but is working with two coaches/tutors one-on-one and is learning a lot re equipment and music theory and, so far, remains focused and dedicated. He has ear and can make pitch. Wants to stay regional to NYC.

It used to be that there were schools where leadership knew how to work around DOE central, but DOE central has grown so damn huge and COVID makes work-arounds impossible. I don't see how this changes until we get a new mayor and my kids can't wait that long.
