    My DC got a 97 on the G&T. We are zoned for PS59. Should we consider PS11 or PS33, or are we better off going gen ed with PS59? My thinking is that with a 97 those are the only two G&Ts worth considering. Thoughts?

    Boarding school question. Anyone have the experience of a school reaching out past the deadline to ask dc to finish application? Ds decided to stop the process with one particular school. They've repeatedly asked him to finish. Seems so odd to me.

    I really want to choose Brearley because I believe the academics are stronger. They seem to have a reputation of having the brightest girls and the girls appear to be very supportive of each other.

      op- Horace Mann has a great reputation also, but the environment does not seem to be as supportive. Chapin seems like it might be better only because I donít know if my daughter can keep up with those Brearley girls. They seem to be awfully smart! I want to choose Brearley, but it might be too much for my dd to handle? Does anyone know how hard is it to keep up?

        No doubt Brearley either has better academics or smarter girls, based on the significantly higher exmission to HYP. But Chapin is not bad either, so if you think she is not up for the challenge, Chapin would work.

      Fieldston is artistic, CGPS has a variety of programs but parents can be a tad showy and all of their priorities may not be academics. Riverdale is athletic. What do you want? PK is too soon to decide, but Riverdale is kind of in-between Fieldston and Horace Mann.

        kids younger end are ready but it is a challenge that private, sports, etc have varying cut-offs so kids from sep-Dec are constantly in between things in city.

          My kid has a june bday and started kindergarten w girls aa full year older. She could do the work but struggled behavior wise. They almost didnít invite her back. The next years she was awesome. She needed time to mature.

      awkward for a few years as others who are sometimes 1.5 years older went through puberty. Things are socially back on track for her and she is in the athletic popular group (not the cool party group) at her school.
