Do the 7th grade ERB scores matter for high school admissions to any of the following: SHSAT schools, Screened Schools, Independent Schools? My child is in an independent now, but will likely apply to publics and privates. His school says they include them on the school report, but I’m not sure who wants them?

My daughter applied for PPAS but her average is about 3 points lower that what they say they are willing to accept for the major she is pursuing. She got a "callback" for musical theater where it was revealed that the children in that room were the best auditions in the city. Does she have a chance? Are schools ever lenient with the averages?

  13. NYC Schools Horace Mann vs. City and Country for 3s and beyond?...(more) 2-23-2019 12:31pm (12 replies)
We're currently very happy at City and Country, but have the unexpected option to switch to Horace Mann. Of course, the educational approaches are completely different at each--we understand that. But HM goes all the way to 12 and would be one of the best outcomes hoped for should our DC stay at C&C through 8. Main thing holding us back is our phenomenal experience at C&C. Firmly believe in their early childhood approach. DC absolutely loves going to school and has made lots of friends. On paper, HM seems perhaps the obvious choice, but we're finding it a much tougher call to make in actuality. Thoughts?
