  4. Toddler Any creative solutions to help DH get on board with putting things away where they belong? We've been round and round about it for 20 years now and he puts dishes in random...(more) 33 min ago (28 replies)
    cabinets, stuffs clothes in strange places so they're never found again, etc. His position is that a) if something needs put away, he is doing me a favor by putting it away and off the counter/floor/dryer so I shouldn't get to dictate where he puts it, and b) I am "anal" by wanting things to go in the same place every time. But he does things (all the time) like put regularly used items on shelves I can't reach, or things like hammers on shelves above my head where I worry they will fall down. And I am always looking for things. I promise I have told him how important this is to me and talked to him about it a million times but he thinks my points are silly and this is not something worth caring about. Is he right? Do I need to just give up? I try, but then I can't find something important and I try again because at the time it seems so obvious to me if I just point out how much trouble it is to find things if you put them away randomly, he'll &

          and put it back in the same place". Her strategy is to wrap things in black garbage bags, tape shut, do not label, and hide in unlikely places. Like teh sleeping bags with my kids old dollhouse. But my husband is the same. Sometimes I wonder if *I'M* the crazy one b/c they all see this as normal. Then they cant find something and go buy a new ones.

        put plastic cups (which have another home) in with the wine glasses. If he gets to the dryer first he sort of folds the clothes but will put them (for ex.) on the top shelf in the closet behind another pile of clothes so then I am looking for my shirts, which I would have hung up. Etc.

            on purpose? I have never done that because it feels mean and sneaky.       very valuable. I had very different impressions (and most importantly, so did DD) after seeing the schools in person. She is also a junior. The trip went well--no meltdowns--but I think it's stressful for them. The goal was to hopefully get her excited about schools where she's more likely to get in (as opposed to the more competitive schools).
