immediately and never wavering, no matter how many years you've been together. Does not matter. He hit you, and no one should ever, ever, ever hit you. Not ok, and will happen again if you stay together. Leave. Show your children by example that they too should never stay with someone who hits them. It is THE dealbreaker. Leave him immediately. Better to live in a tiny place than to be hit. No excuses.

My dd is 13 and has never said anything worse than "crap". We do not curse in our house and try not to in front of her ever. (Behind the scenes we are sailors).....but because we want her to learn to control herself in the future from outbursts that are inappropriate we have taught her it is not acceptable. I have no advice ----- but as a mom.....if you feel the crowd she is hanging out with is a bad influence at 11 ----- you need to jump in and take control......

knew when it was special). But she could keep hold of anything for more than 2 weeks. Then she acted unconcerned when she lost them. This was the first sign, though we didnt realize, she had fairly bad ADD. Example: she got a fake motorcycle jacket for her birthday, it cost about 70 bucks and was a big deal to her. She "had it while she was sitting in the hall" at middle school one day, 2 weeks later. It also had her metrocard and a $100 gift card from grandparents in the pocket. It was obviously left on the floor and stolen. Her "not caring too much" attitude enraged me. I didnt realize she was covering up feeling devastated, since that happened so often she felt like an idiot. I kind of considered her to be one, too
