family altogether, never paid child support, and created a new family. Dh grew up poor, but managed to do well in life despite a childhood filled with hate and abuse. Now, the father wants back in after all these years, and tried to connect, but dh has put all that in the past and doesn't consider this man a father. This man also refuses to acknowledge all the horrid things he did to dh (they are so atrocious). Now, one of the step-kids has decided he needs to reconnect with dh. But this guy, in his 40s, is extremely mentally unstable. At first his e-mails were innocuous...then they became full of religion and pleas for repenting. They alternate between sweet-talking notes of reconciliation and hell-fire brimstone "you will pay" threats. Dh has not seen his step-brother since the guy was 5 years old. He is a stranger. Dh went to local police to report the series of scary e-mails we've gotten. What else is there to do? (Dh never lets things bother or scare him, but e

It's just escalated and now we hear from him every few days.
