    • Former SF mom here (now in NYC)... Marin isnt all it's cracked up to be... schools are mediocre, there is not public trans (BART). Dublin is not great in the East Bay.... I would...(more) 5-18-2012 5:50pm
      look into San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda (Lamorinda). All have a BART station for easy commuting to SF and Lamorinda schools were awarded Gold and/or Silver medal by US News. My 2 cents ;-)

    I am trying to plan a week that will entertain my elder mother (85 yrs old) and my 7 yr old son. She lives in the SF Bay Area. I would like to plant my mother in a rocker on the deck or in front of the window overlooking the beach, while my son and I rent bikes, kayaks, explore tide pools, etc. So what do you think - Santa Cruz or Monterey?

    My daughter has a food allergy. She has been a Girl Scout for 2 years and has sold over 300 boxes of cookies but can't eat any.
