i remember 4 years ago when the "who would you have a bbq with" poll came out. more people wanted to have a bbq with Bush than Kerry. at the time i remember thinking, shit, Kerry's lost... (more)
this race. yesterday, the same poll came out and more voters said they'd bbq with Obama than McCain. woohoo! he's really gonna be the next president! it's just really hitting me that this could actually happen!

- I've been saying that for months. He's going to win people on the likeability vote. 7-3-2008 8:56am
- and yet, polls like this are sooooooo depressing 7-3-2008 8:57am
- op: true. the fact that this is even what ANYONE cares about is depressing in it's own right. 7-3-2008 9:03am

- Most people tend to vote for the candidate they'd like to have a beer with or would let walk their dog. This election rests in the hands of the independents and the non-bush...(more) 7-3-2008 8:58am

- it's always been that way though. Most people don't agree 100% with any candidate. They either vote by party, personal issues, or likability. In this case, Obama has the upper hand 7-3-2008 9:00am
- a lot of ppl still support bush, though. just not on the coasts 7-3-2008 9:01am

- The problem is that independents almost always vote Republican ... when it comes down to it, they vote against the threat of higher taxes for themselves. There have been studies. 7-3-2008 9:00am
- perhaps but as an independent myself, along with most of my friends, the war and the economy are real issues now and McCain's plans just don't seem right 7-3-2008 9:01am
- true, but i think the GOP has finally found a candidate repulsive enough to sway everyone to the Dem side! 7-3-2008 9:02am
- he's not "repulsive" he's just not right for the country right now. Another time, he might have been perfect 7-3-2008 9:03am
- i just meant he's repellant to people on the fence about the war and the economy - harsh, i guess 7-3-2008 9:04am
