Good evening. Our dd received her middle school acceptances and we are very happy for her. We love all the schools (Dalton, Friends and Avenues) for different reasons and would love to have any feedback from current parents to help us decide where she will most at home. We are coming from a lovely public, so please, not a public/private debate. Thank you!

Yes, perhaps surprisingly, real post. We looked at Avenues initially as a 'backup' and because we liked their best practices approach and World Course. Internationalism is important to us. Then, we were surprised by how much we liked them and how well thought out the curriculum is.

Perhaps I should say that we are less concerned with whether schools are safeties, or whether they have lesser reputations...or whether they take x2e kids ready to mainstream....and more interested in which one will be the best fit for dd. She is bright, but not an alpha type. She is a generalist, a thinker, but not precocious...any insights into whether each school is a pressure cooker, how much hw in high school, commitment to service learning and diversity (walk the walk as opposed to talk the talk?)
