DC off for a playdate with her DD, your DC is a genius by the time you pick him/her up 2 hours later. (I remember once she and her DD came over for dinner, and they hung out with my DCs for a little bit while I finished cooking. By the time dinner was ready, my almost-2-yo DS was happily putting together those big 24-piece jigsaw puzzles by himself, and my 5-yo was doing origami. They were beaming and giggling and so proud.) I wish she could find a way to monetize that – so that, instead of being a lawyer who hates her job, she could make a living just doing fun stuff with kids.

happier with the decision. You may want to look/tour there. It's a fantastic school and was initially modeled on ASD Nest. It is highly structured and academically rigorous. However, unlike most charters, it is very SN friendly. 15% of tje kids are in teh ASD program and 30% of the population have IEPs. They get speech in "social club" (ala ASD Nest) 5 times per week. The teachers and staff are phenomenal. I'm sure, as with any school, it's not for everyone, but it was the answer to our prayers. My husband wrote a poem about our experience and the school. I'll post it below. It expresses our feelings perfectly.
